Privacy policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Sheltr is a construction management tool for architecture studios and builders in Latin America: budgets, expenses, purchases, project progress and a WhatsApp assistant. This policy explains what data we process, why, who we share it with and how you can exercise your rights. It applies to the web application, the iPhone and Android app, and the WhatsApp assistant.
Who is responsible
Sheltr is operated by Felix Trusso. You can write to hola@sheltrhousing.com with any question about your data.
Each studio that uses Sheltr decides what information it enters about its projects, clients, contractors and suppliers. The studio is responsible for that information, and Sheltr processes it on the studio’s behalf to provide the service.
What data we process
- Account data: name, email, phone, role within the studio, profile photo, language and, for contractors, national ID number and trade.
- Project information: address and location of each project, budgets, expenses, income, payments, fees, salaries the studio records, purchases, tasks and progress.
- Files: site photos, receipts, invoices, quotes, contracts, insurance policies, plans and documents uploaded or received over WhatsApp.
- Messages: what is written to the WhatsApp assistant and the copilot, including voice notes and their transcription, and conversations with suppliers.
- Supplier data: name, contact person, phone, email and store addresses.
- Device: the identifier used to send notifications to the app or the browser.
- Technical usage: activity records within the studio (who made which change), technical errors and cookieless visit statistics.
We do not request or store your device’s location. The app uses the camera, photo library and microphone only when you choose to attach a photo or record a video.
Why we use it
- To provide the service: display and calculate each project’s information, send notifications and reply over WhatsApp.
- To create and protect accounts and prevent unauthorized access.
- To analyze documents and messages with artificial intelligence when a feature requires it: reading a receipt, comparing quotes or answering a question.
- To fix errors and improve how the service works.
- To meet legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to operate Sheltr. Each one receives only what it needs for its function:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage. It stores all account and project data.
- Vercel: hosts the application and its technical logs, and measures visits without cookies (page address, browser and device type).
- Sentry: receives technical errors so we can fix them. We filter search data out of addresses before sending them.
- Resend: sends account emails and notifications (name, email address and the content of the notice).
- Kapso y WhatsApp (Meta): send and receive the assistant’s WhatsApp messages: phone number, text, voice notes, photos and documents. Kapso also transcribes voice notes and runs the assistant on Anthropic models.
- Anthropic: processes with artificial intelligence the content it is asked to analyze: copilot messages and their results, purchase photos, quotes, price lists, receipts and project summaries.
- OpenAI: reads contractors’ insurance policies to extract their details (including the names of insured people).
- Voyage AI: turns text into search indexes: suppliers, materials, budget items and copilot answers.
- Replicate: generates design images from a description and, if attached, a reference image.
- Google: Google sign-in, the Google Drive connection if the studio turns it on (read only), and maps and address search (the text you type).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) y Apple: deliver app notifications: the device identifier and the notification text. Apple also provides Sign in with Apple.
- Servicio de notificaciones del navegador: delivers web notifications to the browser that enabled them (Google, Apple or Mozilla, depending on the browser).
- OpenWeather: receives each project’s location for the weather forecast.
- OpenStreetMap, CARTO y OSRM: display maps and calculate routes between projects and suppliers: they receive the map area and the route coordinates.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not show ads or share data for advertising.
- We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
Where it is stored
Data is hosted on servers in the United States. Some of the providers listed above may process it in other countries. When you use Sheltr from Latin America, data is transferred to those countries with the safeguards offered by each provider’s contract.
How long we keep it
- Studio information is kept for as long as the studio uses Sheltr.
- The text of WhatsApp assistant messages is deleted after 30 days, and the rest of the assistant’s log after 12 months.
- When an account is deleted, its notifications, preferences, devices and connections are deleted. The studio records that person entered (expenses, documents, comments) remain with the studio without a link to the account, because they are business information.
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language and some display preferences. Visit statistics do not use cookies.
Your rights and how to delete your account
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use. Accounts are created by each studio’s administrator, who can also delete them from Users.
You can also write to hola@sheltrhousing.com from your account’s email address and we will delete it for you. We reply within 30 days at most.
Security
Information travels encrypted, files are kept in private storage and each studio sees only its own data. Integration credentials are stored encrypted.
Minors
Sheltr is a work tool and is not directed at people under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we will also announce it inside the application.
